MARIE CRISCIONE
"Narrator"
Marie Marie, a soprano, is gleefully diving into her sixth season with the Scarborough Gilbert and Sullivan to play a brand new, never-before seen role.

She received her Honours Bachelor of Music degree in vocal performance and a post-graduate Diploma in Opera from Wilfrid Laurier University where she studied with Victor Martens. She performed numerous roles in WLU's opera productions, including Appolonia in La Canterina, Miss Wordsworth in Albert Herring, Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro, and the title role in Stravinsky's The Nightingale. Solo appearances in oratorio include Mendelssohn's Elijah, Mozart's Vespers, and Brahms' German Requiem with the WLU Choir and Orchestra under the direction of Noel Edison.

Professional solo engagements include Beethoven's Missa Solemnis (again under direction of Noel Edison), Handel's Messiah, Schnittke's Requiem, Bach's Mass in G Major, Brahms' German Requiem, Saint-Saens' Christmas Oratorio, Faure's Requiem, Whicher's A Spotless Rose, Haydn's Creation, Dubois' The Seven Last Words of Christ, and the roles of Lucy in Menotti's The Telephone, Gretel in Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel, and the title role in Alice in Wonderland.

Currently, Marie is the soloist and Senior Choir section lead at Jubilee United Church in North York and enjoys spending many a weekend lending her voice to a bride and groom's "big event".

In her spare time, Marie is a busy Law Clerk at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP in downtown Toronto.
